Violinist Johanna Cornelia Müller performs as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster and appears regularly as a guest musician with the Berliner Philharmoniker. She previously studied at the Karajan-Akademie der Berliner Philharmoniker, which she completed in 2025, where she was artistically mentored by the orchestra’s First Concertmaster Daishin Kashimoto.
As a concertmaster she has collaborated with ensembles including the Bayerisches Kammerorchester Bad Brückenau and the Junges Philharmonisches Orchester München. Her performances have taken her to major venues such as Smetana Hall in Prague, Alte Oper Frankfurt and Herkulessaal München.
As a soloist she has performed violin concertos by Jean Sibelius and Felix Mendelssohn in major concert venues including the Konzerthaus Berlin. Her interpretation of Karl Amadeus Hartmann’s Concerto funebre with the Kammerakademie der Staatskapelle Halle received particular attention. In the upcoming season she will perform Johannes Brahms’ Violin Concerto as well as Ladder to the Moon by Michael Daugherty as a soloist with orchestras in Italy and Germany.
Further artistic inspiration came through international festivals such as the Zermatt Festival of the Berliner Philharmoniker and IMS Prussia Cove. As an accomplished chamber musician she has performed with artists including Mayumi Kanagawa, Sophia Jaffé, Gregor Sigl and Jens-Peter Maintz.
Johanna Cornelia Müller is a prizewinner of the Ysaÿe International Music Competition in Liège as well as other competitions including the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hochschulwettbewerb. She studied at the Universität der Künste Berlin with Nora Chastain and pursued chamber music studies with Dirk Mommertz at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and with Rainer Küchl at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.
Already early in her studies she appeared as deputy concertmaster at the Komische Oper Berlin and performed with the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Johanna Cornelia Müller has been supported by the Paul Hindemith Society, Freunde Junger Musiker Berlin and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and performs on a violin by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume (Paris, 1862), generously placed at her disposal.
